Entrance to the viewing gallery/auction room requires registration and a catalogue. One catalogue admits two people and each registered bidder may bring a guest. Guests will not be able to bid unless registering in their own right.
Bidding In Person: You can bid in person but will need to be registered. In order to register you will need to provide the following details: Full Name, Full Address including Postcode, Telephone (Landline & Mobile), additional guest name (if applicable - please note, only one guest allowed per registered bidder), Proof of ID and address (photo ID such as passport/driving licence; and proof of address such as bank statement/utility bill), signature to confirm acceptance of bidding terms & conditions. Once registered, you will be issued with a bidding number. Entrance to the viewing gallery/auction room will require a bidder number and a catalogue.
Absentee Bid: If you are unable to attend the sale you can place a bid in advance with Omega Auctions – this is referred to as an “absentee bid”. In order to place an absentee bid, please send an email to email@example.com by 6.00pm the day prior to the sale, with the following details: Email subject: AUCTION DATE Absentee Bid, Full Name, Full Address including Postcode, Telephone (Landline & Mobile), Scan/copy of two forms of ID (photo ID such as passport/driving licence and proof of address such as bank statement/utility bill), details of the lots numbers you wish to bid on (lot no and brief description) and your maximum bid. For high value lots, we, we may request a deposit in order to accept your bid.
Bids via the-saleroom.com: Register with the-saleroom.com. Please ensure the following: your address is correct as this will be used for shipping purposes, a valid credit/debit card is entered which will be used for payment following the sale, a valid telephone number has been entered, a valid email address has been entered. Once registered, click “Sign up to bid” button to register for the auction. A non-refundable registration fee of £1 may be charged to the registered card. Once your registration has been approved you can place absentee before or during the sale or can bid live throughout the sale. The Buyer’s Premium for items purchased via the-saleroom.com is 22.5% + VAT (27% inclusive of VAT).
Telephone Bid: If you are unable to attend the sale and wish to bid on any item which is estimated to sell for over £500, you can reserve a telephone line in order to bid over the phone during the live auction. We will call you approximately 5 lots prior to the lot you wish to bid on and will bid on your behalf under instructions received from you over the phone during the bidding process. Telephone lines are limited, so please reserve in advance to avoid disappointment. Charges: The Buyer’s Premium for this sale if bidding via the-saleroom.com (live bidding or absentee bids left online) is 22.5% + VAT of the hammer price (27% inclusive of VAT). For example, if you bid up to £100, you will pay £127 in total. The Buyer’s Premium for this sale if bidding in person, via telephone or via an absentee bid made directly with Omega Auctions via email is 17.5% + VAT (21% inclusive of VAT). For example, if you bid up to £100, you will pay £121 in total.
UK credit card and all international credit/debit cards incur a 2.5%+VAT charge (3% inclusive of VAT). There is no additional charge for UK debit card payments. Please note, in line with our terms and conditions, where credit/debit card payments are taken without the cardholder being present, we withhold the right to defer dispatch/collection of items until payment has cleared (usually 3 working days).
Payment: Payment for items purchased is by Cash (Sterling), Credit Card, Debit Card or Bank Transfer. If paying by bank transfer or credit/debit card where cardholder is not present then funds will need to clear before items can be collected/shipped. UK credit card and international credit/debit card payments will incur a 2.5%+VAT charge (3% inclusive of VAT). If bidding in person, items should be paid for at the venue by 5.00pm on the day of the sale. If bidding via the-saleroom.com, telephone bid or absentee bid and are successful, we will send you an invoice the evening after the sale. Payment is required within 2 working days of the sale otherwise payment may be taken automatically using the registered card.
Important Information regarding non-payment:
We require payment to terms. Payment must be made on time, in full, and without any deduction, set off or counterclaim. An account remaining outstanding after 7 days will have a £20+VAT administration charge applied. In the event that an account is outstanding after 14 days, we will refer the matter to our debt collection agents, Daniels Silverman Limited, which will incur a surcharge of 20% of the debt, plus VAT at the prevailing rate. You agree that you will be legally liable to pay us that surcharge, and that payment of the same can be enforced against you in court. You also agree to pay interest at the relevant reference rate provided for under the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998, which interest is payable both after and before any judgment of the court and continues to accrue.
Collection of items after the sale: If bidding in person, items should be paid for and removed by 5.00pm on the day of the sale. All other bidders should arrange collection within 2 working days of the sale. All collections are from our auction premises in Warrington (Omega Auctions, Unit 3B Penketh Business Park, 66-70 Liverpool Rd, Great Sankey, Warrington, WA5 1QX).
Shipping: If you have bid online, telephone bid or absentee bid and are successful, we can usually arrange shipping for invoices with a value less than £10,000, which can easily be shipped via Royal Mail or our nominated courier. We cannot insure against broken glass and whilst we package carefully, we cannot accept any liability for damage in transit. For framed items we can either remove from frames or ship in frames at your risk. For large/bulky or particularly fragile items please check with in advance that we are able to ship. We are happy to provide an approximate shipping quote in advance of the sale for items you are interested in. We do not provide a packaging only service. We do not ship wines, ports and spirits, however Benelux Shipping offer a competitive service for shipping of wines.
